Experience:
I have been involved in the martial arts for forty nine years, starting in 1959. I hold Advanced dan levels in kenpo, karate, aikijitsu and black sashes in two styles of kung fu. I am the co founder of the Black Lotus Martial Arts System and am the Chairman and head instructor of the organization. I have been certified as a shihan and soke by several international organizations and was inducted into the United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as master of the year. I have been recently awarded master's rank in unarmed combat, as well as knife, stick and cane combat. I have been awarded recognition as a Senior Professor of The Arts, by the University of American Kenpo.
Accomplishment(s):
I have been recognized as a Shihan and Soke by several international organizations and registered as co founder and head master of the Black Lotus Martial Arts System, and head its organization. I was inducted into the 2008 United States Martial Arts Hall of Fame as 'Master of The Year'.
I have been teaching the martial arts for forty one years in the Chicago area and in Tucson, Arizona.
I hold the rank of Hachidan in both kenpo and the BLMA system. I have been recently recognized as Hachidan Shodai Soke (First generation master, 8th dan) of the Black Lotus Martial Arts System and was awarded an honorary doctorates degree in martial science by the Master's College of The Martial Arts.

I am an ordained minister and a former pastor. I hold Doctorates in Theology and in Christian Counseling, a MA in Divinity and a BA in Psychology. I work as a mental health professional.
I am the father of six children, all of whom study the martial arts and the grandfather of thirteen grandchildren, several who are practicing martial artists.
Goal(s):
I am more interested in teaching and writing about the philosophy, and spiritual aspects of the martial arts and their impact on every day life. I am also writing a series on Christian martial arts, and hope to publish a book on the subject.
